A mammogram is an X-ray examination of the breast. It is used to detect and diagnose breast disease in women who either have breast problems, such as a lump, pain or nipple discharge, change in breast size or shape. The procedure allows for early detection of breast cancers, benign tumors and cysts.
Our women's imaging center features the most advanced and state-of-the-art mammography systems such as the GE Senographe Pristina.

About the Ontario Breast Screening Program
Ontario Breast Screening Program (OBSP)
Early Detection. Better Outcomes.
The Ontario Breast Screening Program (OBSP) is a province-wide, organized cancer screening program that offers high-quality mammography services for the early detection of breast cancer. Early detection can lead to better treatment options and significantly improved survival outcomes.
Our clinic is an accredited OBSP site, proudly providing inclusive and accessible breast cancer screening services to eligible individuals in our community.
Why Get Screened?
-
Breast cancer is the most common cancer in Canadian women and a leading cause of cancer-related death.
-
Regular screening can detect cancer early, often before symptoms appear, when it is most treatable.
-
When detected early, nearly 100% of people survive at least 5 years after diagnosis. When detected late, only 2 in 10 people do.
Who Is Eligible for OBSP Screening?
✅ The OBSP is inclusive
The Ontario Breast Screening Program (OBSP) offers routine mammography screening every two years for individuals aged 40 to 74 years who:
-
Have no signs or symptoms of breast cancer
-
Have no personal history of breast cancer
-
Have not had a mastectomy
-
Have not had a screening mammogram within the past 11 months
-
Individuals with breast implants are eligible for OBSP
The OBSP is inclusive of cisgender women, transgender men and women, and nonbinary individuals who meet these clinical eligibility criteria.
Screening is based on breast tissue and cancer risk, not gender identity alone.
